Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This page explains what personal data Ella Kager collects when you place an order or contact us through ellakager.com, and how that data is used.

Who is responsible for your data

This privacy policy is provided by Ágnes Gabriella Szabó, operating as Ella Kager, an individually-run cake business based in Aarhus, Denmark. Ella Kager is not currently a registered company (no CVR number). For any questions about your data, contact:

Email: [email protected]
Address: Nørrebrogade 8, Aarhus C, Denmark

What data we collect

When you place an order through our website, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The type of cake and order details you provide (flavours, size, occasion, any custom requests)

We do not collect payment information through the website itself. Deposits and payments are handled separately, and we do not store card or bank details.

We do not use cookies, analytics, or tracking technologies of any kind on this website.

Why we collect it

We use this information solely to:

  • Understand and fulfil your cake order
  • Send you an order confirmation email
  • Contact you if we need more details about your order (e.g. allergies, delivery timing)

The legal basis for processing this data is the performance of a contract — in other words, we need this information to make and deliver the cake you've ordered.

How your data is stored

Order details submitted through the website are sent directly to Ella's email inbox. We do not maintain a separate customer database. Your order information may remain in that email inbox for our own records (e.g. for repeat customers or in case of a dispute), but is not shared, sold, or used for any purpose beyond fulfilling your order.

Third parties

To send order confirmation emails, we use Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES), provided by Amazon Web Services, to deliver emails on our behalf. Amazon processes the email address and order confirmation content only to the extent necessary to deliver that email — it does not use this data for its own purposes. You can read more about AWS's data handling at aws.amazon.com/privacy.

Our order form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, an anti-spam service provided by Cloudflare, Inc. When you submit an order, Turnstile processes your IP address and browser information to determine whether the submission is from a human or a bot. This processing happens in your browser and is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

We do not share your data with any other third party, and we do not use your data for marketing or advertising purposes.

How long we keep your data

We retain your order information for as long as our business relationship is active. If you have not placed an order in the past 5 years, we will delete or anonymise your details, unless you have asked us to keep them.

If you'd like your data deleted sooner, contact us directly (see below) and we will remove it, except where we are legally required to retain certain information for a longer period (e.g. for tax or accounting purposes, if applicable).

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Ask us to delete your data
  • Object to how your data is used
  • Complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) if you believe your data has been mishandled — datatilsynet.dk

To exercise any of these rights, simply contact us at the email address above.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle your data changes (for example, if we start using cookies, add a database, or use new third-party tools), we will update this page accordingly.
